FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT BY INDIAN COMPANIES FALLS 72% IN JANUARY

Overseas direct investment by Indian companies have fallen by 72 per cent to $2.05 billion in January 2015, showed the data released by the Reserve Bank. Indian companies had invested $7.34 billion in their overseas ventures in January 2014. In December 2014, Indian companies had invested $2.47 billion in overseas markets. The investments were a mix of issuance of guarantees of $1.69 billion, loans of $178.72 million and equity investment of $180.23 million.
